St. Monica Circle is a prayer ministry dedicated to praying for loved ones who have wandered away from the Catholic Church.
Just as we have cried for our loved ones, many tears were shed by St. Monica for her son Augustine and her husband, Patricius. Those tears helped convert Patricius and bring Augustine back to the Church, so we believe that our prayerful “teardrops” will help our loved ones return as well.
St. Monica met Ambrose, the local bishop who would later be canonized a saint. Ambrose became a spiritual guide to her and promised, “Surely the son of so many tears will not perish.” St. Ambrose also told Monica to “Speak less to Augustine about God and more to God about Augustine.” And so we follow in her example and ask for her intercession as we also speak to God about those we love who have wandered away from the faith.
St. Monica Circle - a prayer ministry at St. Denis
A prayer ministry is an essential aspect to a church and when many people come together to pray for the same thing, the power of prayer makes a significant impact on the community. We invite all men and women to join us as we pray for our loved ones who have fallen away from their Catholic faith.
We meet monthly on the first Tuesday at 6:30 pm in the Gathering Room.
If you are unable to join us, but would like us to pray for your loved one(s), please complete the form below. The names will be added to our Prayer Box and our members will pray for them.
