The Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the healing sacraments in the Church. It continues the healing work of Jesus through the forgiveness of sins. It is an invitation to place yourself in God's gentle presence. Because Jesus wishes to heal your broken parts, so that you can be made whole and confident, he offers you God's assurance of acceptance through the words and absolution of a priest who is, like you, aware of his own need for forgiveness.
The Sacrament is regularly available every Saturday from 3:15 pm to 3:45 pm in the Confessional, or by appointment. It is also offered at occasional communal celebrations, especially during Advent and Lent.
Reconciliation is celebrated for the first time at St. Denis as part of our 2nd Grade Faith Formation Program, as a prerequisite to receiving First Eucharist, and is explored more fully during our 4th Grade program. For more information please contact Cheryl Mauro at the Rectory (508-476-2002, x2).
Why should I go to confession? Doesn’t God already know that I’m sorry for my sins?
